Brisbane start-up Creatively Squared wins top prize at Creative3 Pitch

A BRISBANE start-up which matches brands with content creators from around the world has taken out the top prize at yesterday’s Creative3 Pitch competition.

Creatively Squared’s founders Ruth Stephensen and Scott Thomas will jet to Copenhagen to represent Australia at the Creative Business Cup in December.

The husband and wife duo will also have the chance to take part in the Virgin StartUp accelerator program, StepUp.

Launched in late 2016, Ms Stephensen said the company had already received a number of international orders.

“We’re so excited to have won the Creative3 Pitch,” she said. “As an early stage start-up having an experience like representing Australia at the Creative Business Cup will be invaluable.

“We have built our platform to be global, so it’s a wonderful opportunity to share the incredible value we create and introduce the talents of the Creatively Squared community to the world.”

Creatively Squared utilises the popularity of services such as Instagram to pair businesses with a hub of creatives, who shoot images which the brand can then use on their own social media sites.

“Creating high quality images that make your business and products stand out is a challenge for many brands, so we’re looking to connect with as many businesses as possible to help them solve this problem,” Ms Stephensen said.

“We have already built an amazing community of talented creatives and our challenge over the next 12 months is to scale.”

Mark Gustowski, acting CEO of QUT Creative Enterprise Australia, which hosted the event, said he was impressed by the calibre in the Creative3 Pitch competition.

“We’re really proud to be able to offer up Creatively Squared as the Australian representative for the Creative Business Cup, and look forward to being able to follow their growth in the years to come,” he said.
