The world’s most creative, influential and inspiring entrepreneurs to attend Creative³, the largest conference for creative entrepreneurs

The world’s most creative, influential and inspiring entrepreneurs will descend upon Brisbane on September 17 and 18 for QUT Creative Enterprise Australia’s Creative³ forum.

The only event of its kind in Australia and now in its sixth year, Creative³ is a two-day pitch, forum and masterclass encompassing a series of dynamic presentations from the world’s leading creative visionaries and entrepreneurs that offer real-world insights into creativity, enterprise and investment. With a blend of interactive sessions, keynote speakers, workshops, networking events and an investor pitch event, Creative³ is designed to spark collaboration, and inspire entrepreneurs and startups to execute their ideas.

QUT Creative Enterprise Australia CEO and Creative3 Curator Anna Rooke explains Creative3 will further demonstrate that Australia should back the future power sectors of the Australian and global economy, and not rely on our resources and traditional industries which fuelled the pre-GFC economic boom times.

“We’re showing Australian startups what’s possible with a smart, scalable business venture. Sometimes Brisbane’s creative startup community is underestimated when compared to international hotspots such as Silicon Valley, but we have some of the best and brightest talent here,” said Ms Rooke.

“Through Creative³, we’re bringing successful entrepreneurs from around the globe to Brisbane, to help our Australian startups access capital, connect and grow in confidence. We have a thriving local startup community that is being fostered by incubators and co-working spaces but we need to mature our innovation ecosystem significantly to compete globally.”

The Australian creative industries employ over 6.2% of the workforce and represent over $90 billion to the Australian economy in revenue terms alone. The sector has been recently recognised as a driver for economic growth in the Brisbane 2020 New World City action plan and the Queensland Government’s Advance Queensland $180M plan has a strong a focus on startups, investment and commercialisation.

“We established the Creative³ forum six years ago to equip business leaders with the latest thinking on new technology, business tools, creative intelligence, industry insights and design-led innovation. We’re giving startups and entrepreneurs an opportunity to gain business insights from leading game-changers and industry experts.

Leading keynotes are all at the forefront of disrupting their industry covering the dramatic impact their companies have made on wearable tech, augmented reality, fashion and retail, user generated games content and quantum computing.

Speakers at the Creative3 Forum and Masterclass will share their journey as business entrepreneurs raising investment. Brisbane born and based keynote speaker Stefan Hajkowicz is the Principal Scientist in Strategic Foresight at Australia’s national science agency CSIRO and will present about future trends and what the world will look like in 2035. Other key speakers include Mashable’s Asia Pacific Director of Strategy and Business Development, Gwendolyn Regina Tan, who is currently based in Singapore spearheading Mashable’s global expansion as well as Michael Fox, CEO and Co-Founder of Shoes of Prey, which is one of the fastest growing Australian fashion retail tech startups, recently announcing expansion to the US.

The Creative3 Forum brings together the brightest minds from across the globe, empowering the next wave of entrepreneurs while the Creative3 Pitch is designed to connect creative industries ventures with investors, and finally, the Creative3 Masterclass is an intimate event which provides attendees with the opportunity to learn from incredibly innovative business leaders.

The prestigious winner of the Creative³Pitch will go on to represent Australia and compete against 63 countries at the world championships for creative entrepreneurs, the Creative Business Cup in Copenhagen, Denmark later this year.

The four finalists who will battle it out at the Creative³ Pitch include Brisbane’s Men on the Moon, comiXchat from the Gold Coast and Brandspot and Bluethumb from Melbourne. Men on the Moon helps bricks and mortar retailers boost sales using beacon technology; comiXchat turns conversations into comics, Brandspot groups all of a company’s branding materials in one online location and Bluethumb is an online art marketplace.
