Timothy is driven by community, helping to develop growing entrepreneurs and building capacity for startups.
Tim was a Founding Executive of QUT Starters – a Queensland University of Technology student society that worked towards fostering entrepreneurs. Over the last three years he has helped to build Brisbane’s early-stage startup ecosystem through countless events and workshops. His most notable achievements include becoming the Director of Startup Hatch and co-architect of Disrupting Law. Startup Hatch is a student pre-accelerator program turning students from being observers into achievers. Over his two years with Startup Hatch he engaged and mentored over 70 new ventures.
Tim has been recognised for his outstanding contribution to leading the creative economy:
- QUT – Student Leadership Excellence Award (2017)
- Australian Institute of Management – Leadership Excellence Award (2016 finalist)
- QUT – Volunteer of the Year Award (2016)
- 16th National Student Leadership Forum – Sponsored Delegate (2014)
Prior to joining QUT Creative Enterprise Australia, Tim was frequently exposed to digital strategy, corporate innovation and medical devices (both with regards to design and execution). Tim has now joined CEA as the Projects and Community Manager and still manages to study his double undergraduate degree in Medical Engineering and Business Management at QUT.
