MUSHIFEST is the brainchild of Louise Evans, a former co-founder of winning team ‘Shario’ in the 2016 edition of Brisbane Startup Weekend Creative Tech.
Mushifest creates songs and characters for children learning English as a second language.
Mushifest’s primary market is Japan. ‘Mushi’ means insect in Japanese, while ‘fest’ is short for festival.
Louise came up with the concept of a Music Festival featuring insects, after observing how much her young ESL students in Japan loved insects and everything insect related.
“Insects are hugely popular in Japan, and I wanted to design my brand around them in the hope of inspiring more kids to practise at home. Plus I want them to have fun at the same time.”
“Mushifest songs are entertaining enough for children to want to sing them, even when they are not in the classroom” says Louise.
